St. Paul's Presbyterian Church hosts Jesters Theatre free of charge as an outreach to the community of Mission.  We are so happy to share our building with such a wonderful ministry to children and families.  Read more below from the Jesters Theatre website ...

Jesters Theatre has two main goals:

1.  To inspire young people to love theatre and dance – both acting and backstage

Our students will learn basic acting, dance and backstage skills such as lighting, set design and costuming according to their interests

2.  To experience the joy of giving to families in need.

– Giving to Families in Need through Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse)!  Proceeds from our Fall Shows are donated to fill shoe boxes for children in poverty overseas with basic hygiene needs such as soap and toothpaste, and also things to delight like crayons and toys. These shoe boxes put a light in their eye…they know they are loved.  So far Jesters Theatre has packed 700 shoe boxes!  WATCH VIDEO to learn more!

– Each year we have also supported a local program that supports youth.  Past programs include:  Youth and Parent Adventure Retreats, Stepping Stones Teen Parent Program and TeamBASE (an outdoor recreation program for youth).  Last year we supported MY House (Mission Youth House) which is a safe place for disadvantaged youth to come and have basic needs met and receive support to succeed.` MY House Information, MY House Grand Opening

Jesters Theatre has been in operation since 2011.  Our actors and crew are students grades 3-12.  They come from all kinds of backgrounds and draw creativity together to present a play in 10 weeks!  We are proud of their accomplishments and have been rewarded with sold out crowds for the past three years!  Currently we are running six shows!

Jesters is run by Youth Unlimited, a non-profit, Christian organization that has been in Mission since 1994.  Our aim is to provide caring relationships and developmental opportunities for youth (mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual).  Annually, Jester’s youth gather donations at our shows.  Our global cause has been Operation Christmas Child, and in fact, we packed our 700th shoe box last year! Locally, we are thrilled to support MY (Mission Youth) House.

Many thanks to the congregation at St Paul's Presbyterian Church for being such gracious hosts for this event!
